The Casa de México Foundation in Spain builds its Day of the Dead altar, this year dedicated to composer Agustín Lara (1897-1970), the Flaco de Oro, who presides over the scene at his piano. 🌼🎹
The offering is inspired by a mountain cemetery in Michoacán on the Night of the Dead: candles, marigolds, copal, music and monarch butterflies, which in Purépecha and Mazahua tradition represent the souls returning to visit the living.
