📖 Avant-Groove and Cosmic Soundscapes
The trio performs material from Ride to Heaven, conceived as a sonic exploration of universal human themes such as courage, hope, and farewells. The ensemble describes its aesthetic as "Avant-Groove," a daring synthesis of rhythmic depth and improvisational freedom that links Mediterranean origins with experimental horizons.
Coll plays marimba, piano, and castanets, joined by Polish violinist and composer Mateusz Smoczyński alongside acclaimed Spanish drummer Ramón López, an international figure known for his work in avant-garde jazz and Indian percussion.
🎶 A Rising Force in Contemporary Jazz
Born in Ibiza in 2000 and mentored by German pianist Joachim Kühn, Andrés Coll has emerged as one of the most original marimba and vibraphone talents of his generation. His artistic expression blends Ibizan folk traditions and ball pagès with classical influences and modern jazz improvisation.
✨ A vibrant celebration of rhythm, folk heritage, and contemporary jazz in Madrid.
