📖 The courage to embrace one's own truth

Inspired by the real life of South African artist Helen Martins, the story unfolds in Miss Helen's home, an elderly woman facing rejection from her conservative community due to her unconventional lifestyle and sculpture-filled sanctuary.

The arrival of two distinct visitors—Elsa, an outspoken young teacher, and Marius, a devout local pastor—sparks an emotional debate about morality, social duty, and the autonomy of the soul. Her art stands as a defiant refuge against prevailing social restrictions.

🏛️ A powerful production at Teatro Bellas Artes

Written in 1984 during the apartheid era, Fugard's piece moves beyond its original context to examine generational tensions, conformity, and the inner courage needed to remain genuine in an unforgiving world.

Guided by Claudio Tolcachir's sensitive staging and anchored by Lola Herrera's profound talent, this acclaimed performance is an unmissable theatrical event in the heart of Madrid's cultural district.

ℹ️ Good to know: Final performances: until October 25. Approximate duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Recommended age: 12 and older. Performed in Spanish.

✨ A stirring tribute to personal conviction and authentic artistic spirit.
