Throughout their career, the ensemble released monumental 1970s studio albums including In Rock (1970), Machine Head (1972), and Burn (1974), which propelled them straight to global stardom.

With more than twenty studio records to their credit and over 150 million copies sold worldwide, the original lineup composed of Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Roger Glover, and Ian Paice played a pivotal role in shaping the contemporary music landscape.

Honoured with the Legend Award at the 2008 World Music Awards and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, the group was also ranked fifth among the most influential bands in history by British radio station Planet Rock.
