📖 An intense psychological and moral drama

Set in a small American community, the story brings together a mother and the teacher of her eleven-year-old son, Gidion. What begins as an apparently conciliatory conversation quickly turns into an intense clash of reproaches, shadows, and painful truths.

Using sharp dialogue and precise structure, the play explores childhood, education, guilt, and the system, confronting the audience with tough moral questions that offer no easy solutions.

🎭 Direction and venue

Director Israel Elejalde draws on the ancient Greek metaphor of the Gordian knot to examine two opposing perspectives facing an intricate ethical dilemma and wondering who must bear the consequences.

The historic Teatro Español, located in the central Cortes district of Madrid, hosts this compelling staging of Johnna Adams's acclaimed drama on motherhood and accountability.

✨ A profoundly moving theatrical piece exploring grief and moral duty.
