📖 A contemporary tribute to a masterwork
Fascinated by Spanish folklore, sacred religious processions, and Joaquín Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, Miles Davis recorded the seminal Sketches of Spain, opening modern jazz to world music traditions.
Decades later, Truffaz and Lizana revisit that historic milestone through a fresh, modern lens. The concert preserves the poetic exploration of the original record while blending cutting-edge jazz improvisation with the passionate depth of flamenco.
🎺 European vanguard meets flamenco tradition
Erik Truffaz stands out as one of Europe's most distinctive and innovative trumpet voices, recognized as a true pioneer of modern electronic jazz.
Beside him, Antonio Lizana delivers unmatched stage presence, uniting his saxophone skills with his identity as a cantaor in contemporary flamenco-jazz. Their concert at Centro de Cultura Contemporánea CondeDuque marks the Madrid premiere of this tribute.
✨ A singular musical encounter celebrating Miles Davis through modern jazz and authentic flamenco.
