📖 Seduction, manipulation and dangerous desire

Originally published in 1782, this masterwork continues to resonate with contemporary themes such as the abuse of power, consent, inequality, and the impunity of elite circles. The Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont weave a merciless web of emotional games, creating a story that burns like ice while exposing the dangerous mechanics of dominance and lust.

🏛️ A contemporary and minimalist production

Director David Serrano brings to Teatro Marquina a sleek, stripped-back staging free of period costumes or historical sets, highlighting the absolute timelessness of the text. Set within a clean and fluid space where character changes take place in full view of the audience, the production intensifies the playful yet wicked nature of the plot.

ℹ️ Good to know: Running time: approximately 140 minutes (+ 10-minute intermission). Recommended for ages 12 and up. Performed in Spanish. Final performances: until 18 October.

✨ Do not miss this sharp duel of intellect and passion on the Madrid stage.
