Marchioness Pilar receives a visit from Father Beltrán, a sharp-witted priest who never misses a trick. She keeps a valuable 17th-century painting in her home, strictly protected by a police inspector who guarantees that the tight security measures make it impossible to steal.

However, Father Beltrán immediately suspects the plumber working around the house. His instincts are spot on: the workman is plotting one of the clumsiest robberies in history. Suspicion, temptation, and confusion quickly take over the stage to guarantee genuine laughter.
