📖 The chorus at the heart of tragedy
Contra Antígona seeks to turn Sophocles' classical drama into a live meeting place for civic dialogue. During each performance, fourteen audience members are invited to form the Greek chorus and witness the tragedy directly on stage.
Far from a simple critique of the legendary character, this work invites audiences to interrogate traditional heroic narratives. By questioning the customary idealization or delegitimization of Antigone, the staging reclaims the vital role of the chorus, exploring how collective intelligence can foster richer and more nuanced spaces for deliberation.
