🩰 The programme

George Balanchine's Serenade, set to Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, holds a special place for the company: it was the first Balanchine work to enter its repertoire, in 1983.

It is followed by Echoes from the Restless Soul, Jacopo Godani's piece to Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit, with pas de deux, quartets and a virtuoso ensemble movement, and William Forsythe's The Second Detail, a piece of energy and precision that has become a contemporary classic.

🏛️ The Teatro Real

Opened in 1850 opposite the Royal Palace, the Teatro Real is Spain's great opera house. Since reopening in 1997 it has become one of Europe's leading opera theatres, with its own productions touring the world's major stages.

ℹ️ Good to know: Four performances. A great chance to see dance on one of Europe's major stages.

✨ From neoclassicism to the avant-garde in one evening.
