📖 Arithmetic, color, and sound
The exhibition revolves around the core concepts underpinning Cruz Novillo's aesthetic and conceptual inquiry: reflections on arithmetic, color, time, sound, and play.
In the late 1960s, the artist began investigating the combinatorial possibilities of geometric shapes and color. While sharing artistic concerns with artists working at the Centro de Cálculo during that period, he was not part of that collective. In 1996, he produced his first computer-aided visual and sound piece: Diafragma Tres Opus 2.
🎨 Career and drawing at CentroCentro
Cruz Novillo began his professional journey as a draftsman at Publicidad Clarín. Drawing became his primary medium and remained a constant thread moving from paper to sculpture across varied supports.
✨ An essential exhibition exploring the geometric experimentation and conceptual depth of Cruz Novillo.
