Madrid Craft Fair 2026: Christmas market on Paseo de Recoletos

December in Madrid smells of wood, leather and freshly fired ceramics. All month long, the Paseo de Recoletos, between Colón and Cibeles, fills with craft stalls for the 39th Craft Fair of the Community of Madrid. 🎄🧶

It is the region's big showcase for handmade gifts and one of the city's longest-running Christmas markets: around 130 workshops selling what they make by hand. It is organised by the Madrid Association of Craft Trades (AMOA).

🏺 What you will find

Ceramicists and potters, jewellers and silversmiths, leather workers, printmakers, hat makers, toy makers, glass artists and textile decorators, among many other crafts.

Most workshops come from the Madrid region, with some artisans from other parts of Spain. Everything on sale is made by the stallholders themselves, so it is the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind gifts and talk to the people who made them.

🎄 A Madrid Christmas classic

Now in its 39th edition, the fair is the main showcase for regional craftsmanship and a must on any Christmas walk through the centre, next to the lights of Recoletos and Cibeles.

ℹ️ Good to know: weekday mornings are the quietest. Take the metro (Banco de España, L2; Colón, L4) or the Cercanías train (Recoletos).
